In the timeline below, we have illustrated how the milestones in the lives of Arthur and Eugenie Samuel were related to other events. These include significant matters related to their family starting in 1836, to the development of National Socialism in Germany post-World War 1, and to various activities in Cadenberge between 1945 and 2023.<\/p>\n

The two-column timeline has been divided into 5 periods, each identified with a different coloured background. They are:<\/p>\n

\n12 years of growing Nazi oppression and turmoil<\/p>\n

1945\u20131971 \u2013 THE LATER YEARS<\/strong>
\n26 years of slow recovery and new connections<\/p>\n

2001\u20132023 \u2013 TODAY<\/strong>
\n21 years of recognition and commemoration<\/p>\n

The narrow vertical, coloured strips to the right of each of the columns designates the general location of each of the milestones or events.<\/p>\n

The timeline highlights the numerous challenges Arthur and Eugenie encountered throughout their lives, mirroring the era in which they lived. Their survival was in large part due to the support provided by the citizens of Cadenberge during the worst of these times.<\/p>\n

In these troubled times around the world, let us not lose hope in the humanity of the citizens of our communities and their willingness to provide support to those exposed to persecution.
