This list documents almost completely the names, years of birth and death, occupations and spouses of Arthur Samuel's sisters and brothers. It also includes the first names and birth dates of their children. Arthur had seven siblings; only he (in Cadenberge) and his four-year-older sister Emilie (in South Africa) survived the Nazi terror.

Heinz Samuel was the nephew of Arthur. He survived the Nazi era under the worst of circumstances. In a handwritten memorandum, he describes the stages of his ordeal, which reportedly also led him to a subcamp of the Neuengamme concentration camp in Hamburg (only 100 kilometers away from Cadenberge) towards the end of the war. In October 2021, we had the opportunity to conduct an interview with contemporary witness Jonny Tiedemann. With the help of his son, Jens Tiedemann, who now lives in the Ruhr area, we were able to exchange questions and answers by email. Jonny Tiedemann, who provided us with valuable information, sadly passed away the following year.
